Outlook
Vide arrives in San Jose after two seasons with the New York Red Bulls. A hard-worker defensive midfielder, Vide provides the Quakes with a strong option in the middle of the field. His work-rate and ball-winning skills should help slow down the opponent's attack.

2007: Played 16 games in second year in MLS, starting 13 for the Red Bulls … Logged 1,107 minutes mostly as a defensive midfielder helping New York earn a playoff berth … Received four yellow cards … Played full 90 minutes in six games … Playoffs: Started and played 77 minutes in game two of Eastern Conference Semifinals at NE.2006: Vide saw little action to start the season, but then gained two midseason starts (Sept. 3, Sept. 9) … Made MLS debut on 7/4 at LA, starting and playing 75 minutes … Appeared in seven games on the year … Recorded one goal in reserve action, playing 11 games.
College
Played four seasons for the University of Virginia from 2002-05 … Appeared in 19 games as a senior, scoring three goals and notching three assists, playing alongside current Revolution forward Adam Cristman .... In 2004, started six of the 15 games he appeared in, scoring one goal and helping UVA to 18-5-1 record … Played 21 games in 2003 and notched four assists.
Personal
Chose UVA for its academics and for its athletic programs ... Enjoys playing golf … Father, Joe, played football at Auburn … Has four sisters, Kelly, Jessica, Jenna and Emma and one brother, Anson … While attending high school in Munich, Germany, Vide played for Munich 1860 on the A Youth Team (1999-2002) - the level right before the professional ranks, was offered a professional soccer contract but passed on it to play college soccer at UVA … Played for 84 Raleigh Caps club … Spends time visiting Children's Hospitals on off days.
