Over 30 Players Selected from Earthquakes Tryout Tour Presented by Verizon Wireless

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Taking advantage of the Bay Area's hotbed of soccer talent, the San Jose Earthquakes embarked on a Tryout Tour throughout seven Northern California cities over the past month.

The effort was well-rewarded, as the Earthquakes Tryout Tour, presented by Verizon Wireless, turned up far more talent than the originally proposed one to two players per city. At the end of the tour, members of the Earthquakes talent evaluation staff invited thirty-three players from the various tour stops back to an invitation-only combine to be held in late December.

The Tryout Tour visited Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Hayward, San Francisco, and Salinas, and photo galleries are available here.
